Scientific cooporation

•Small world, But with much gaps.
People do not cooperate. We know that the information world is small connecting everyone by 5 or 6 friendship hops. However, the gaps between the cooperation friends are big.
Many societies teach people not to cooperate from early age.
Many scientists do not cooperate. They, usually, pretend to cooperate to compete. Biologically and game strategically, we do not know what style is more efficient in the end. However, still, there can be a more pleasant and respectful ways of doing science.
Is survival the only and ultimate objective function(parameter) in the world?
